The main team
The idea for the girls only technology club came to an entrepreneur and engineer Taavi Kotka after his daughter Helena was excluded from a robotics group. As a result, in the autumn of 2018, an NGO was created, to develop a true interest in technology, robotics and science as well as popularise technology education among girls.
At first, the team consisted of three members only – the founders and the biggest supporters Kerstin and Taavi, as well as a board member and the leader of the initiative, Liis. However, as the popularity of unicorns grew, Lauri, and soon, our youngest, Anu, joined to work in development and logistics. Communication is handled by Helen. Marko has also joined the team as logistics expert.

More than 2,000 girls from all over Estonia are currently participating in the HK Unicorn Squad hobby groups, and this number is growing constantly.
